Who we are
Rottz Mobile Games LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), established in Florida, United States of America, operates Word Picnic (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of data when you use the Service and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Data we collect
Word Picnic is made for children. It does not ask children for their name, e-mail address or any other personal information.
To improve handwriting recognition, the app can send anonymous copies of the letters a child draws after completing a word: the drawing (the pen strokes), the letter and word it was meant to be, the game language and the date it arrived. No name, account, device identifier, advertising identifier or IP address is sent or stored with it, and it is never shared with advertisers or analytics providers. Because these samples cannot be linked to any person, we cannot find or delete a particular child's samples after they are sent; turning the feature off in the app stops future sending and deletes anything not yet sent.
How we use your data
We use the collected data for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the Service
- To notify you about changes to the Service
- To let you take part in interactive features when you choose to
- To provide customer care and support
- To understand usage so we can improve the Service
- To monitor the usage of the Service
- To detect, prevent and address technical issues and abuse
We do not sell your personal data.
Third-party services
The Service uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
Disclosure of data
Beyond the third-party services listed above, we may disclose personal data only: (a) as required by law or in response to valid legal process (for example a subpoena or court order); (b) when we believe in good faith it is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud or abuse; and (c) as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will provide notice before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy. We do not sell your personal data.
Your choices & opt-out
- Stop all collection — uninstalling the app stops all data collection by the app; you can additionally request deletion of stored data via our data-deletion page.
Data retention & deletion
We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Game progress kept locally remains on your device until you uninstall the app; data collected by the third-party SDKs is retained under their own policies. You can request deletion of any data associated with you at any time via our data-deletion page, or by emailing privacy@rottzgames.com.
Legal bases & your rights
Where the GDPR / UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: consent (optional features you choose to turn on), legitimate interests (running and securing the game and preventing abuse), and performance of a contract (delivering the features you request).
Depending on where you live (for example the EEA/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. We will never discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To exercise them, email us at privacy@rottzgames.com or use our data-deletion page.
Security
We take reasonable physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect the information we process and maintain, and the third-party providers we rely on (Google, AWS) apply industry-standard protections of their own. That said, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International data transfers
Your information may be processed on servers located outside of your state, province or country — including in the United States, where our own servers (AWS) operate. Where required, these transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision. By using the App you acknowledge this processing.
Children's privacy
This game is designed for young children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents or guardians with questions can contact us at privacy@rottzgames.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page, and the current version and effective date are always shown at the top. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
